The YVR-055 Devastator Cyclone was a prototype Cyclone meant to replace earlier models. Due to the staggering cost of its advanced weaponry, the production was canceled and replaced with a more practical VR-057 Veritech Super Cyclone, which kept the Devastator nickname. [citation needed]
