The Package was the code name for a data storage unit used by Dr. Catherine Halsey to store a fragment of the AI Cortana. During the Fall of Reach, Noble Team's final objective, particularly that of SPARTAN-B312, was to get the Package, and the sensitive data it contained, off the planet on the UNSC Pillar of Autumn.
