Grest was a crewmember aboard the La Petite Marie. In Guayama, Puerto Rico, he deserted ship along with Ludon and Ricaud. The trio was discovered near Ponce by the crew of the Diablo Del Mar, and Grest and Ricaud were shot and slashed to death by Maroosh and Rillo.
