Republic assault cruisers were cruisers that carried star fighters from place to place. It had little armaments, and was slow moving. But, it had massive shielding and its armor was made of material to absorb laser hits. Also, its quantity of star fighters made up for its lack of defenses. Their production was disbanded after the New Clone Wars by Emperor Samuel Harmon.
