Goldbeard Walter Kennedy was a pirate in Avalon, Atlantis in the 1660s, the zenith of piracy. He joined Red Rodney Radcliffe's plan to defend Avalon from Anglo-Dutch-Atlantean forces intent on destroying it. At the Battle of the Hesperian Gulf, Kennedy lost his leg to a cannonball, and died late into the night. His brother, Brickyard Kennedy, assumed command. Kennedy was remembered centuries after his death. One of the streets of Avalon, Goldbeard Way, was named for him.
