Charade is one of those words that Mon Capitane Jean-Luc Picard uses to sound Very Sophisticated. Sophistication includes drinking Earl Grey tea, getting turned on by ancient artifacts, riding horses and - ugh - reading (and memorizing) Shakespeare. His farts do not smell like those of ordinary men. Instead they smell earthy, peaty, with a hint of lilac. The Capitane pronounces "charade" like "star wad". Instead of like "parade" which is what 99.99999987624% of the rest of English-speaking aliens say. (TNG:Allegiance, TNG: Deja Q)
