Vernon Billings was the pastor of New Hope Village Church prior to the Rapture, when Rayford Steele's first wife Irene and his son Raymie attended and became believers. He created a video to inform those who have been left behind what had happened. In the Dramatic Audio presentation of "Glorious Appearing", Rayford personally thanks Vernon, who has returned with the raptured saints, for the video that has brought him to salvation (in the episode "Home").
