Dr. Debraj Shome, (b. 26 August 1977) is an Indian Facial Plastic Surgeon. He has made many contributions to the field of Ophthalmology & oculo-facial plastic surgery. He founded and led the Department of Ophthalmic and Facial Plastic Surgery, Orbit and Ocular Oncology at Aditya Jyot Eye Hospital, Mumbai, India (one of India's top eye hospitals). Dr. A.P.J.Abdul Kalam, The President of India honored him with the coveted “Researcher of the Year Award” in 2007. The Express HealthCare Management (from The Indian Express group) recognized Dr. Shome as an "Achiever" in April 2007. Shome is a Visiting Faculty in the Department of Head and Neck Surgery at the prestigious The University of Texas M. D.
