The Dominion of Men was an era of the Fourth Age that signified the dominance of Men in Middle-earth and the final waning of the Elves in Middle-earth. It was a time of relative peace and stability in the kingdoms of men. This was due the heavy defeats suffered by many of the traditional enemies of men after the War of the Ring, including Harad and Orc Nations. Gondor under the new king saw a era of continued expansion into Harad to the south and the re-building and manning of many fortifications in Mordor.
