Mickey Matthias is Cory Rodriguez's best friend. He is pretty much like his parents, very quiet and intelligent. He does not, though, get offended easily, and is rather sweet. He prefers to stick to the rules, and thinks "inside the box." He is not goth, as many think, but just likes wearing dark clothes. He is described as a "walking oxymoron".
