The Keeper of the Tower was a title bestowed upon a selected royal official of the palace on Tammuz-an. Their responsibility was to act as guardian to the Tammuz-an Royal Scepter. One of their functions included presiding over a coronation ritual wherein the heir to the throne of Tammuz-an placed the royal scepter inside of a pre-selected housing within the tower on the first sun of the equinox.
