  • Yiga Blademasters are enemies from The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. They are Sheikah soldiers of the Yiga Clan. Link confronts them at the Yiga Clan Hideout in the Gerudo Highlands region. They are tough enemies due to a unique ability: if he is too close, getting hit by a Blademaster's attack will instantly kill Link, bypassing all Heart Containers, fairies and Mipha's Grace. Blademasters encountered in the field lack this special ability, though they use a technique that summons a stone pillar or a blast of air from the ground beneath Link after a few seconds.

Blademasters encountered in the field lack this special ability, though they use a technique that summons a stone pillar or a blast of air from the ground beneath Link after a few seconds. After being defeated, Yiga Blademasters drop Mighty Bananas and various gemstones, and may drop their Windcleaver. A Blademaster appears to only drop his weapon if given a chance to retaliate in direct combat. Stealth kills will prevent the drop, as will keeping them constantly stunned until they go down, such as by switching between multiple shock weapons. Link must defeat a Yiga Blademaster during the Shrine quest "The Stolen Heirloom" to obtain the Sheikah Heirloom.
