  • Whomps are some species of Thwomp that have arms and legs. They are made of stone and bash their faces to the ground when approaching a Player. Whomps made their first appearance in Super Mario 64.
  • Whomp is a recurring enemy in the Mario series. It resembles a giant stone slab with a face and is featured with arms, and legs. Whomp will make its first debut in the Paper Mario series in Paper Mario 3DS for the Nintendo 3DS. Judging them as shown in the trailors, their attacks are the same as always like in the previous games they've appeared in, by falling forwards, trying to crush anyone who dares to pass by. Similar to their neighbors, Thwomps.
  • Whomps, originally referred to as Slam Beasts, are a possible sub-species of Thwomp that attacks Mario by falling face first on the ground to crush Mario. Mario can defeat it by ground-pounding its back.

C'est un grand mur de pierre ou béton qui attaque en s'allongeant lourdement sur le sol (si Mario est là dessous, il meurt écrasé). Il possède un pansement sur son dos qui indique son point faible.

There only attack is to crash down on you when you are under them, once they do that, Mario was able to jump on his back to do a ground pound to defeat him. The leader of the species is Whomp King, whom tried to defeat Mario on top of Whomp's Fortress. Since their debut, they have appeared as an enemy in many other Mario games, including New Super Mario Bros. and Super Mario Galaxy 2 and have the same traits however. Whomp is a mid-boss (Bob-omb Factory) in Mario Party 9.
