But once he realized she actually wanted to be a historian, he was disappointed but understood. He continued his keths tradition of brewing famed Endilev ale. In 2266, he was assigned Andorian Ambassador to the Federation. (Last Unicorn RPG module: The Andorians: Among the Clans) In 2267, he represented Andoria at the Coridan III admission conference on Babel. An Orion spy was planted among his staff, impersonating an Andorian, and tried to stop the conference from happening, but in the end was stopped, and the conference went on. Shras was among the representatives that supported Coridan's admittance into the Federation. (TOS episode: "Journey to Babel") Shras's eldest son, Theras shoorShras, who served as his planet's Warrantor of the Peace, was kidnapped and subsequently killed during a joint Romulan/Klingon plot to destabilize the UFP in 2281. Shras was deeply pained by the loss and mourned his son by means of an Andorian blood-mourning rite. During negotiations with the Romulans for the return of the remaining hostages, Shras personally represented his people, hoping to recover his son's remains. (TOS novel: Dwellers in the Crucible)
