Gibson also worked as a writer's assistant for the show Missing, which gave him experience that he used while producing and writing over fifteen indie films. In 2009, he wrote the short film Silent Night. The following year, he wrote an episode for the CBS-produced police-procedural drama series Criminal Minds.
