(TNG - The Q Continuum novel: Q-Space) In 2376, Jake Sisko compared the buildings he saw in the ancient Bajoran city of Yyn to the Parthenon, although the buildings in Yyn were several thousand years older than the Parthenon and yet were in better condition. (DS9 - Worlds of Star Trek: Deep Space Nine novel: Bajor: Fragments and Omens)

  • The Parthenon was a bar at 21 Strathclyde Street, Sydney, Commonwealth of Australia that was Emanuel Barakat's favorite. It was destroyed during the Battle of Earth. In 2553, Mal and Vaz arrived at Sydney, only to find the Parthenon reduced to a pile of rubble, the only remains four bright turquoise Doric columns. They paid their respects while drinking fruit juice borrowed from construction workers. Mal mentioned that Emanuel would see the funny side of that.

  • Modeled after the real-life temple Parthenon. His shadow has the power to bring out Zebra's brutal personality. His entire body is made up of sculptures. Thousands of dead creatures are inside his temple body, and his pillars are filled with methane gas. He was offered 3,000,000,000 Choujin Dollars to perform on Zebra's team. The dollar bills (gold bars in the anime) he received from Zebra were packed into his pillars. In the last semifinals match of the Survivor Match for the Kinniku Throne, he teamed up with Zebra in a Tag Match against Kinnikuman and Robin Mask. He trapped Robin inside his pillars with his "Body Petrification Trap", but Robin escaped using the Anoalo Sceptre. He then broke Parthenon in half with his Tower Bridge and finished him off with the Robin Special.
  • The Parthenon is a type of Town Building. The Parthenon may only be built by the Barbarians, Halflings, High Men, Nomads, Orcs, Beastmen, Dark Elves, Draconians and Trolls. A town must already contain a Temple in order to construct a Parthenon. The Parthenon's base construction cost is File:Icon Production.png . Also, for the majority of races, the Parthenon can unlock up to two additional structures for construction: the Cathedral (the final step down the Religious development branch) and/or the Oracle (which reduces Unrest further and increases the town's Sight Range).
  • The Parthenon was a temple to the Greek goddess Athena, built in the fifth century BC. Located on the Acropolis hilltop of Athens, Greece, it contained a statue of the goddess, and the building was also used as a treasury. In later centuries, the temple was later coverted and used as a Christian church, then an Islamic mosque, and even an Ottoman ammunition storage - which was bombarded in 1687, causing serious damage to the site. In the early 1800s, some of the marble statuary was removed and sold to the British Museum. Today, the Parthenon is considered one of the world's finest cultural monuments, and a symbol of Athenian democracy and Greek civilization.

The Parthenon itself provides two important bonuses simply by existing in a town. Its most important benefit is reduction of Unrest by 1 point, meaning that the town will have one fewer Rebel than it would without the Parthenon. Furthermore, the Parthenon produces File:Icon Power.png , fed directly to the town's controlling wizard. This Power can be invested in any way the wizard sees fit. Both bonuses are cumulative with those given by the Shrine and Temple. Also, for the majority of races, the Parthenon can unlock up to two additional structures for construction: the Cathedral (the final step down the Religious development branch) and/or the Oracle (which reduces Unrest further and increases the town's Sight Range). The Parthenon requires an Upkeep Cost of File:Icon Gold.png per turn for its maintenance. If you're pressed for Gold, a Parthenon can be sold back for File:Icon Gold.png .

Today, the Parthenon is considered one of the world's finest cultural monuments, and a symbol of Athenian democracy and Greek civilization. In 1910, Indiana Jones arrived in Athens, with his father, mother, and tutor. On one of their first days in the city, the Jones family went up to the Acropolis to see the Parthenon, which was a common tourist attraction. Climbing through the ruins on the hill, they finally beheld the ancient temple. However, Anna Jones was concerned over the health of Miss Seymour, who had stayed behind at the hotel with a migraine. She prevailed upon her husband the need to return, and so the family was not able to explore the ancient structure itself. Young Indiana drew a sketch and floor plan of the Parthenon in his journal, along with some notes on the building.
