abstract
  • Mitchell Grafton is a man who appeared in After Hours (episode). He formerly worked as a prison guard at the Juvenile Hall that Amy Harrison was sent to for discovering marijuana in her locker. During her sentencing there, Grafton repeatedly raped her. Some time later, he then encountered Amy Harrison, who by that point was working as an outreach member, while she was going for gas. He then tried to attack her after she tried to flee from him, although she ultimately killed him in self-defense by shooting him three times, with the third shot acting as the killing shot. However, largely due to her experiences in jail, her friend, James Muldoon, a Navy Petty Officer Second Class, offered to take credit for killing Grafton so she wouldn't have to go to jail again. Prior to his death, he also married three times, although Grafton was presumably very abusive to his wives, since some denied wanting to see him even to confirm his cadaver, and one even offered to write a thank you card to Muldoon for supposedly killing him. This also acted as one of the reasons why the NCIS Major Case Response Team initially considered the case closed with the official story given by him. Although they initially thought after noticing some conflicting details regarding the case that something was up, they eventually amended the case closed report to note that Amy shot him in self-defense after learning the full truth of what happened.
