Figures were often released in batches, referred to as "Waves". Thus, a figure might be said to be in "Wave 1", or "Wave 2" for example. Peculiar to this series, eleven figures were released separately as part of a branded "collect-and-build line". Each individual figure in this "line" contained component parts for another figure. When assembled, the parts created an 8" mounted Vespiform. A number of the figures in this "line" were also made available as a boxed character set — without the Vespiform parts.
