Trivia
  • *This coda went unnamed throughout her appearances, with a trading card calling her Antioch. She was finally named by Pike in Backlash Vol 1 6 as Hestia, the name that the trading cards gave to another Coda under Gnome's employement. * Due to being unnamed for so long and first appearing in WildC.A.T.s Vol 1 1, some people confuses her with the Coda Devin, who also appeared in the first issue and worked for the Cabal.

  • This Coda was part of the Cabal, working under Helspont. She mostly fought alongside Pike and felt animosity towards Grifter. After Helspont's defeat by the WildC.A.T.s, the Coda worked as the bodyguard of H'Tarh, until S'Ryn arrived accompanied by Pike, defeated her and killed H'Tarh. S'Ryn kept the Coda alive as a new recruit, so she and Pike faced Backlash. When Backlash finally captured S'Ryn, the Coda noticed her and Pike's resumes would look too bad by losing two Daemonite lords, and suggested to salvage a ship to rescue S'Ryn. Pike dismissed such idea as they weren't getting more payment.

  • Hestia resembles Suzume and she has short fluffy neck periwinkle hair with a full fringe and two short and long single fringe on her head and pink eyes. Like Aphrodite, Hestia wears a purple armor leotard under a black turtleneck suit with dark purple belt to her waist, purple and yellow shoulder pauldrons, purple and yellow wrist protectors and purple and white knee-high armor boots. She has a large purple and white shaft on her back and wields the purple shaft that resembles a band shield where it activates her glowing barrier as her helmet is similar to Aphrodite's but have two pointed cannons on each side of her helmet. In the OVA version, when fuses with Suzume after it's not seen in the anime series with Tsugumi and Kamome, her appearance has minor changes similar to Aphrodite's. Her armor leotard is now violet and green, her shoulder pauldrons and wrist protectors are now yellow and her armor boots is now violet, white and green. Her shaft on her back and her helmet is now violet and white. Her shaft is now violet instead of purple.
  • In Roman mythology, her more specifically civic approximate equivalent was Vesta, who personified the public hearth, and whose cult of the ever-burning hearth bound Romans together in the form of an extended family. The similarity of names between Hestia and Vesta, is misleading: "The relationship hestia-histie-Vesta cannot be explained in terms of Indo-European linguistics; borrowings from a third language must also be involved," scholar Walter Burkert has written. At some primitive level her name means "home and hearth", the oikos, the household and its inhabitants. "An early form of the temple is the hearth house; the early temples at Dreros and Prinias on Crete are of this type as indeed is the temple of Apollo at Delphi which always had its inner hestia" Among classical Greeks the altar was always in the open air with no roof but the sky, and that of the oracle at Delphi was the shrine of the Goddess before it was assumed by Apollo. The Mycenaean great hall, such as the hall of Odysseus at Ithaca was a megaron, with a central hearth fire. The hearth fire of a Greek or a Roman household was not allowed to go out, unless it was ritually extinguished and ritually renewed, accompanied by impressive rituals of completion, purification and renewal. Compare the rituals and connotations of an eternal flame and of sanctuary lamps.

The invaders wished to bargain with the lives of the Atreides — known loyalists to the Crown — in order to obtain passage to Tupile from emperor Ezhar XI. The emperor replied with his usual firmness: after sending a rather cryptic message of apology to the captives, he ordered his troops to raze Hestia completely. Nothing on the entire planet was left alive.

  • Hestia is a character in Hercules: The Animated Series. She is the Olympian Goddess of Family and Hearth.
  • In Greek mythology, Hestia was the virgin goddess of hearth and home, architecture and domesticity. Equated with the Roman Vesta, Hestia was the patron goddess of the oikos or the Greek household; at the hearth of every Greek house was placed an altar for sacrifice, where the first part always went to Hestia. Establishment of a new colony required flame from her hearth to be transferred to the location before any actual settlement could begin. In myth, Hestia was the first-born child of Cronus and Rhea, swallowed by her father at birth. Later, when Zeus forced the Titan to disgorge his siblings, she was the last to emerge; for this reason she was seen as simultaneously the eldest and youngest of the six Kronides. With Zeus' permission, Hestia pledged to remain a virgin divinity, in line with Artemis and Athena. Hestia had no personal emblem for herself, signifying her modesty; the hearth and its fire sufficed for her. Instead of a regal throne, Hestia sat on a plain chair with a woolen cushion. Although, as one of the six children of Cronus, Hestia had a place amongst the Olympians, she gave up her seat in favour of Dionysus, son of Zeus and Semele.
