  • Cain is one of the many sons of the first man Adam as mentioned in the Abrahamic religions. In the course of time Cain presented some of the land's produce as an offering to the God. And Abel also presented [an offering] some of the firstborn of his flock and their fat portions. God had regard for Abel and his offering, but He did not have regard for Cain and his offering. Cain was furious, and he was downcast. Then God said to Cain, "Why are you furious? And why are you downcast? If you do right, won't you be accepted? But if you do not do right, sin is crouching at the door. Its desire is for you, but you must master it." Cain said to his brother Abel, "Let's go out to the field." And while they were in the field, Cain attacked his brother Abel and killed him.

And while they were in the field, Cain attacked his brother Abel and killed him. Seeing his brother dead, he was suddenly guilt-stricken when he thought of God's and his father's wrath. His murder is cited as the first murder committed by mankind. While trying to figure out a way to deal with his brother's corpse, he saw a raven digging the soil to bury another raven which it had fought before, which inspired him to bury his brother's body in the ground. However, the sudden disappearance of Abel and the stench of the rotting corpse caught the notice of Adam, and Cain was condemned for eternity.
