| abstract | - Ashley Lloyd is a professional milliner (hat designer) that designed pieces worn by Lady Gaga, which was styled by Nicola Formichetti. Her designs were first called in by Formichetti for an unknown styling assignment before a custom piece was requested for a Vanity Fair photoshoot. The photoshoot took place in mid-September 2011 and was shot by Annie Leibovitz in New York City. Two of Lloyd's pieces were worn together with a Valentino gown and nude platform shoes. Lloyd's pieces have been on sale at Formichetti's pop-up shop in New York. A select few are now available through her e-store connected to her web page. Ms. Lloyd is currently working on her own avant-garde collections while collaborating with photographers, stylists, and other designers on a variety of projects. All of her hats are created using exotic materials without animal endangerment as she is a strongly opposed to animal cruelty. She currently resides and works on her unusual creations in New York, NY.
