| HistoryText | - Sergei Kravinoff was born to a high standing Russian family during Soviet Russia, his father being a member communist regime. His father had a love for hunting, and Sergei followed in suit as he developed a talent and passion for hunting during his teenage years. After the fall of communism Sergei as a young man joined the Russian mafia, employing his hunting skills as an assassin. Sergei was arrogant because of the high class lifestyle he lived and looked down upon those of the lower class. One of the men in his gang was Aleksei Sytsevich, one of those very men. The way he treated his men led to high contention between the two of them. But Sytsevich was one of their most prominent and feared enforcers, so he couldn't do away with him. Eventually Sergei left the group, and became a famous professional hunter. .
While on a hunting trip to Africa he was hired by the Big Man in New York City to take out Spider-Man, who was causing a lot of problems for his cyndicate. Kraven agreed and batttled Spider-Man, but was bested by him. Norman Osborn visited him in the hotel he was staying at, hoping to get him to be the test subject for his revised super soldier serum. It worked and Kraven went after Spider-Man again. It did not have the negative side-effects that it had shown before, so Norman deemed it ready.
