Afterward, Ringwood designed the costumes for the first three Batman films (1989's Batman, 1992's Batman Returns, and 1995's Batman Forever). Other films he worked on during the 1990s include AlienĀ³ (1992), Demolition Man (1993, featuring Bill Cobbs and Bob Gunton), The Shadow (1994, whose cast includes Ethan Phillips), and Alien: Resurrection (1997, starring Brad Dourif, Leland Orser, and Ron Perlman). He earned Saturn Award nominations for all seven of these films. Ringwood served as a costume consultant on Bryan Singer's 2000 blockbuster hit X-Men, the third film he worked on featuring Patrick Stewart (Famke Janssen and Bruce Davison also starred). Ringwood later created costumes for Spielberg's A.I. Artificial Intelligence and the John Logan-written adaptation of The Time Machine prior to his work on Nemesis. Most recently, Ringwood designed the costumes for the 2004 epic Troy, for which he received his second Academy Award nomination. In addition to his Academy Award and Saturn Award nominations, Ringwood received BAFTA (British Academy of Film and Television Arts) Awards for Excalibur, Empire of the Sun, and Batman.
