Previously, Chatman worked as a consultant for South Park and as a staff writer for The Chris Rock Show (for which he won an Emmy), Late Night with Conan O'Brien, That's My Bush! and The Downer Channel. Before Wonder Showzen, he and John Lee created and co-wrote Doggy Fizzle Televizzle for MTV. Chatman is also currently signed to a joint venture between sports networks and works as a lacrosse TV announcer. Chatman is of mixed-race heritage, half black and half white. On the South Park DVD commentary, co-creator Matt Stone claimed that Chatman's subtle "African-American accent" is apparently easy to hear through Towelie's voice.
