  • A pulse rifle is a Peacekeeper weapon. It fires bolts of yellow or red energy significantly bigger, more charged, and overall more powerful than pulse pistol. Pulse rifles use Chakan oil cartridges for ammunition; there are no shells. The rifle can be set to overload, causing a large explosion relative to the amount of ammunition remaining. There is a mount on the top, where a scope can be attached. A laser sight can also be attached.
  • The M41A Pulse Rifle is the standard issue weapon of the United States Colonial Marine Corps within the Alien universe. It also appears on the list of available weapons on the HUD of the T-X. By virtue of crossover appearances in Aliens vs. Predator vs. The Terminator, it is listed here for completeness. The M41A Pulse Rifle fires 10mm caseless, armor piercing, high-explosive ammunition and includes a "pump-shotgun" style 30mm grenade launcher in an over-under configuration.

  • Pulse Rifles were first developed during the Tau Empire’s Campaign of Cleansing from 606.M38 to 792.M38, the first prolonged war of the Tau against the Orks. Whilst the Tau suffered many defeats early on, they were ultimately able to eradicate the Greenskins, thanks in part to the Earth Caste refinement of the first Pulse Rifle. As a result of this campaign, the Dal'yth Sept was successfully founded.
  • Pulse rifles fired a rapid pulse discharge which was actually a series of micro-bursts of ion energy. They contained super-conducting filaments, which regulated the beam’s hundreds of individual discharges into a single burst. Unfortunately, the filaments had a limited life-span and had to be frequently replaced every 20 shots. Pulse rifles typically cost 5,000 credits for the rifle, 2000 for a 15-shot power pack, and 300 credits for the super-conducting filaments.
  • The pulse rifle is the hypothetical name to a laser rifle seemingly possessed by terrans. It bears great similarity to the C-14 rifle in structure, indicating artistic license. However, it is worth noting that terran laser technology has been scaled down to weapons such as the pulse pistol and is possessed by starships such as the wraith and battlecruiser.
  • The Pulse Rifle becomes available upon reaching Endako for 20,000 bolts from a vendor. It can be upgraded to the Vaporizer with use. Upon reaching challenge mode, the Vaporizer can be upgraded to the Mega Vaporizer from any MegaCorp vendor, and in turn to the Ultra Vaporizer with use.

Project universe is a combined plasma/kinetic weapon that electromagnetically energizes and accelerates charged projectiles (commonly referred to by soldiers as brights) that deliver an intense electrical charge and explosion to the target. * In the fictional Warhammer 40,000 universe, the pulse rifle, carbine, and pistol are standard infantry weapons for the Tau race * The pulse rifle and pulse pistol are the primary weapons used by the Peacekeepers and others on the television show Farscape * The pulse rifle is a weapon in the Blade Runner video game * Pulse rifle is a weapon used by the geth in the Mass Effect series; it is a further (and exotic) development of "mass accelerator" weapons used by other races. * The M16 Mk. II Pulse Rifle is used by both the Global Defence Initiative and the Brotherhood of Nod's Light Infantry in Command & Conquer: Tiberian Sun. * In the EA game Dead Space the "SWS-Motorized Pulse Rifle" is a military-grade (the only true weapon in the whole game) rifle with high ammo capacity (up to 175 rounds per clip) and a very high rate of fire, but inferior at dismemberment - the crucial in-game tactical tool. It is a kinetic weapon, and Dead Space 2 it has a grenade launcher mode. * In the Unreal universe, the Pulse Gun, later known as the Link Gun, is a plasma rifle of unknown origin that shoots plasma blasts, and also features a secondary firing mode, releasing a steady arc of plasma, similar to those released inside a Plasma Ball, but green in color, taking twice the ammunition per second, and inflicting half the damage. * Also in the Battlefield 2 mod "AIX2" the pulse rifle is a Easter egg weapon that you find in the map "damocles" it fires bullets and has a semi-auto shotgun attached.

  • Pulse Rifles are the standard weapons used by the Tau Fire Caste. The pulse rifle is the most commonly found pulse weapon, pulse pistols are used as a sidearm by some Tau commanders, All pulse weapons operate on the same principle; A particle is propelled by an induction field, The particle breaks down and creates a plasma 'pulse' which shoots out of the weapon at an incredible speed. Damage is caused by the extreme heat and electrical charge of the plasma pulse. A pulse rifle is classed as a Plasma weapon, but unlike Imperial versions they are much more reliable and use more failsafes and cooling mechanisms. This makes them a lot safer and much more sensible to use on the battlefield en-masse. They are much weaker than the Imperial Plasma gun, but the bonuses of extra safety balances out this reduction in power. The Tau pulse rifle is longer ranged and more accurate than the Imperial Lasgun but is considerably more costly on resources to produce than it's Imperial counterpart.
