Synopsis
  • Specter regenerates himself and tells the JSA the King of Tears has no conscience, guilt, or soul so he cannot assist and disappears. Hawkgirl mentions Black Atom's real name, which is rare, and speaks about Hawkman's whereabouts. Mr. Terrific proposes a plan and asks for Jay to run at super-luminal speeds; something only Wally West can achieve. Black Atom agrees to run with him and have Jay steal his power at the last second to reach the necessary speed to knock Johnny Sorrow out of this dimension, and send the King of Sorrows into the speed-force. Jay asks what will happen to him, and Mr. Terrific tells him that's the risk he has to accept. Dr. Mid-Nite agrees to lure Johnny Sorrow into becoming tangible for Jay to strike him. The Specter reappears with the people. He uses his powers to quell the mob of scarred people into battling the creatures from hell. As the JSA help battle the creatures, Hawkgirl calls Mid-Nite McNider, the old Dr. Mid-Nite. Johnny Sorrow tortures Sand who laughs at him. As he's continually hit trying to force him to open his eyes, Dr. Mid-Night arrives and uses his goggle to play back the image of Johnny Sorrow revealing his face to him earlier. Flash strikes Johnny as he's weakened and an explosion occurs with all the creatures from hell disappearing. The Specter revives the Sentinel from his injuries. The Flash wakes up in a desert, with Nabu Teth-Adam, and Prince Khufu standing over him.
