Skell ruled unchallenged for thirty five years until the arrival of Cerras Ki in 65 ABY. Skell was unwilling to take sides in the conflict between the Sith Order of Decreto and the Galactic Federation of Free Alliances and considered having Ki thrown off of Zonama Sekot, but before he could act, a massive explosion ripped through the building, grievously wounding Skell. Skell's last act was to throw himself upon Ki, shielding him from a secondary explosion, at a cost of his own life.
