- Benny Young (born 14th August 1949 in Glasgow) played two roles in Coronation Street: Gloria Todd's love interest David Atherton in March 1986 and Brian Dunkley, Denise Osbourne's brother-in-law from November 1995 to November 1996. He trained at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama. On television he has also appeared in Maggie, The Gentle Touch, Boon, The Bill, Between the Lines, Talk to Me, Taggart and Waking the Dead. In the cinema he had roles in Chariots of Fire, White Nights and Out of Africa. His stage roles include parts in Hedda Gabler, Be Near Me and The Resistible Rise of Arturo Ui.
