  • Silent War (Jedi Renaissance)
rdfs:comment
  • The Jedi Order and the Galactic Republic largely forgot about those fallen Jedi who had been imprisoned until the resurrection of Darth Spector on Muiranthias saw the eventual release of the surviving Dark Masters. Uniting with old allies and forging new ones, the armies of Spector's reformed Empire rallied under the banner of the United Alliance of Sith on the world of Cimmeria. Reclaiming their former strongholds, the Dark Masters unleashed their armies; an elite fighting force of Sith Warriors which could be endlessly regenerated through Sith alchemy and magic. Launching a multi-pronged attack in several different systems, the Dark Masters instigated widespread communications breakdowns which sent the systems they controlled off the grid.

abstract
Having anticipated their return, Jedi Master Zordon reactivated the Ansion Jedi Command Center and began training a task force of elite Jedi Rangers to combat the threat. As the armies of the Alliance grew to strong, Zordon called upon the Jedi High Council for reinforcements. Fearing that all-out war with the Alliance would stir anti-Jedi sentiment within the Senate, the High Council refused to publicly or internally acknowledge the war; instead the Council dispatched their full contingent of Jedi Shadows to deal with the threat secretly. Taking advantage of the communications breakdown, the Shadows worked with the Planetary Defense Forces of various affected worlds in an attempt to thwart the Alliance's momentum. When the dwindling number of Jedi seemed to foreshadow certain defeat, Master Zordon was destroyed, releasing a wave of pure Force energy which reduced the armies of the Alliance to dust and released the spirits of the Dark Masters and their armies to remain imprisoned within the Spirit World, never to take physical form again. Limping home, the ranks of Jedi Shadows were diminished and those planets affected left to pick up the pieces alone. The systems which were hurt the most would hold a grudge against the Republic and the Jedi for not coming to their aid in strong numbers and were the first to abandon the Republic in favor of the Confederacy of Independent Systems.
