Clark debuted in 1955, when he competed at San Mateo. It was a tough race, though, for the driver as he lasted just halfway through the race before tire issues left him in 31st. Luckily, he fared much better later in the year at Las Vegas, turning heads with his 9th place qualifying effort and subsequent 4th place finish. Clark then stepped it up to a five-race schedule for the 1956 season following that success, finishing 80th in the final point standings. It was a very mixed year for Clark as three DNFs hurt his chance in some big races, leaving him no better than 19th at Sacramento. Still, in the two races that Clark was running at the finish for, he recorded top-ten finishes. He started and finished 8th in his first start at Willow Springs and tacked on an 11th place run at Merced Clark's final career race would then come during the 1957, when he again turned laps at the Willow Springs course. Starting 12th in the field of thirty-four, Clark completed all but six laps to also finish in 12th place.
