Square One was run by a democratic government during the 24 colonies; following the first N.T. war, Square One elected Elizabeth B, who assumed power throughout the war and established the first authoritarian-totalitarian dictatorship. Following a series of revolutions known as the Felt Revolutions, democracy was re-established with the help of Eastern Union. Square One is a member of the commonwealth nations, having at one point surpassed the other nations. Following the lost generation, the government re-established dictatorship and re-enacted controvercial entertainment events such as the voluntary Bullets of bullets battle royale, offering a large tax-free lump sum payment as the prize. The nation occupies the north and eastern regions of the world, along with a large sum of tundra known as Farland. Because of it’s isolated region, large amounts of funding is put towards bio-medical research and high technologies to cope with the harsh conditions, including artificial habitats and heavily genitically modified crops, the latter are largely banned in neighbouring Eastern Union. The name Square One derives term coined during the Felt Revolutions, wherein Natsume M popularized the phrase; “Assemble at Square One” following the collapse of Fujimiya. Eastern Union and Square One are considered each other’s sibling nation.
