abstract | - An Assault Platforms, also known as Walkers, are colossal machines of war that use legs as its primary method of locomotion instead of anti-gravity plates, wheels or treads. However, Assault Platforms should not be confused with Mobile Powered Assault Armour or small land drones - Walkers are normally large, with most able to carry several fire teams and are piloted by two or more individuals. The Covenant, Remnant and Sangheili Scarab is considered the standard size for Assault Platforms post-2552, while the Locust is considered a very small Assault Platform. With the addition of a single or even multiple Assault Platforms can turn the tide in any battle, however small military's will be only able to field the cheapest as Assault Platforms are a costly enterprise to start and maintain. While Assault Platforms are incredibly powerful in all respects, they can be easily overwhelmed by smaller, more mobile forces and like one famed Sangheili Field Master once stated, a Walker is only as strong as its weakest leg joint.
