"Lizzie" Bolden (née Jones) (15 August 1890 – 11 December 2006) was an African-American supercentenarian who lived to the age of 116 years, 118 days and was the world's oldest living person following the death of Maria Capovilla on 27 August 2006 until her own death. Ms. Bolden ranks as one of the twelve oldest people ever (see List of oldest validated supercentenarians). Bolden is the record holder for the state of Tennessee, having died in Memphis, Tennessee. Ms. Bolden had a stroke at age 114, after which she required a feeding tube for care.
