  • Steph: "Now you're the cynical one?" Tim: "Now you're the optimist?" Steph: "Maybe, yeah. Kinda throws the whole dynamic out of whack, huh?" The events of "Batman R.I.P." carve a path of destruction through Tim's life, threatening to rip apart the entire foundation of what made him choose to take on the role of Robin in the first place. Tim's on the run and, with Batman's life at stake, he can't afford to make one misstep. Don't miss Part 1 of a shocking 2-part story that will irrevocably change Tim Drake's present as Robin…and his hard-won future as Batman. * * * * * *

Don't miss Part 1 of a shocking 2-part story that will irrevocably change Tim Drake's present as Robin…and his hard-won future as Batman. Summary of Stephness: Batman is missing and Tim calls Steph for her help. She asks about what has happened, and he explains the situation and says he hasn't told her everything since her return. Stephanie pauses and then says, "Eventually, you're going to start saying return like you're happy about it." Tim admits to himself that though he's glad Steph is alive, he's very angry at her for not telling him she was earlier. He doesn't respond to what Steph said, but instead tells her with worried eyes he thinks Batman might have gone crazy. Stephanie responds by bursting into laughter after a pause, so much it brings tears to her eyes when she yanks off her mask. She tells Tim that of course he's crazy, that they all are, but he's also the "most insanely sane man in the world." She take a look at Tim's notebook he took off Batman, and Tim explains he wants to corroborate the information in it with a GCPD officer. Stephanie expresses trepidation at this idea, wondering if Bruce would approve. After doing the deed, he meets up with Stephanie again, who expresses worry that he's not acting like himself or may not be thinking things through. He assures her that he is and goes to beat up a gang robbing an elderly couple. Stephanie follows and knocks out the last guy with her staff, reprimanding Tim for avoiding her. She asks the couple to wait for the police after making sure they're okay. Tim says darkly that they won't as the two run off, and she asks him if he's cynic now, and he asks her if she's the optimist, and she responds, "Maybe," reflecting on how this affects their dynamic. Tim runs off to pay The Penguin to find Batman, and Stephanie follows him, expressing disapproval when he ends the meeting, and still concerned there's something wrong with him. Tim says the Penguin has better connections to find Batman and Stephanie asks him what he plans to do when he DOES find Batman. Tim says he'll make sure he's all right in the head, and Stephanie says, "And if he isn't?" to which Tim replies, "Then I'm going to take Batman down," while posing dramatically on the last page. * * * * * *
