  • The Kelvans were an intelligent and rigidly disciplined non-humanoid species from the planet Kelva, located in the Andromeda Galaxy, and masters of the Kelvan Empire. Only a few Kelvans were known to have traveled to the Milky Way Galaxy.
  • Kelvan è una copia della Morte approdata su GR per falciare e bannare tutti gli utenti che non rispettino il Regolamento.
  • A Kelvan is a race of non-humanoid aliens from Kelvah notable as the rulers of the infamous Kelvan Empire of the Andromeda Galaxy.
  • The Kelvans were a highly intelligent non-humanoid species, native to the planet Kelva in the Andromeda Galaxy. They ruled the Kelvan Empire with an iron fist. Only a small number are known to have reached the Milky Way Galaxy.
  • Their original form is oddly shaped, containing hundreds of tentacle limbs, and have none of the emotional concepts shared by most humanoids. Kelvans are capable of constructing spaceships that travel the distance between close galaxies in only 300 years – far more rapid than any Federation vessel was capable of in the 23rd century. This, however, is longer than the life span of a Kelvan, so that intergalactic ships are crewed by multiple consecutive generations who live aboard.
  • The Kelvan race was a nonhumanoid species that originated in the Andromeda Galaxy. The crew of USS Enterprise encountered them at least once. During their initial contact with the Federation, the Kelvans assumed humanoid form. Their physicality, when not in humanoid form, included at least a hundred tentacle-like arms. (TOS: "By Any Other Name"; Strange New Worlds 9: "Gone Native")

abstract
  • The Kelvan race was a nonhumanoid species that originated in the Andromeda Galaxy. The crew of USS Enterprise encountered them at least once. During their initial contact with the Federation, the Kelvans assumed humanoid form. Their physicality, when not in humanoid form, included at least a hundred tentacle-like arms. (TOS: "By Any Other Name"; Strange New Worlds 9: "Gone Native") In 2285, the Kelvans decimated the population of the Gorn homeworld while making a second attempt to invade the Milky Way Galaxy. The Federation formed ten task forces as a counteroffensive. (Orion Press: In Harm's Way) A century later, at least two Kelvans, Ramat and Biket, would be considered outlaws to the Kelvan High Command. Ramat, himself, had intentionally escaped his people to rebel against them. But after an encounter with the USS Phoenix-X and Admiral Theseus, in the Andromeda galaxy, he came to accept his people and decide to return. (Star Trek: Phoenix-X: "Forbidden Crossing, Part III")

This, however, is longer than the life span of a Kelvan, so that intergalactic ships are crewed by multiple consecutive generations who live aboard. The Kelvans believe increased radiation levels emanated in their home galaxy of Andromeda will render it uninhabitable for them in about ten million years. They have sent a number of multi-generation vessels to the nearby galaxies to find one suitable for invasion. Their philosophy is seemingly devoid of the concept of pacific coexistence with alien species, as they readily dismiss the possibility of colonization of uninhabited planets and prefer to forcefully conquer other species' territories instead, making them an irrationally xenophobic race.
