  • This is a quote from this post by Kromm in the GURPS Forums: Catalogs list ready-made armor, beasts, implants, magic items, races, vehicles, weapons, or whatever. Their job is to provide large numbers of sorted, indexed items with statistics that can be used in any genre or game world (although they'll suit some genres and settings better than others!). Examples: Bestiary, High-Tech.
  • In the catalog menu, there is a listing of the current catalog theme and the six previous ones, for a total of seven at one time. The listing displays the catalog's name and an image of the top selling item, along with the name of the user that submitted it. From here, if they are a member, the player can either access the current catalog, and submit an item, which is done through the same process as creating an item, but with a limitation on what blueprints, fabrics, or decals can be used, all of which are restricted to the selected catalog's theme. After creating an item, it can be submitted to the catalog. The item the player creates does not require spending coins to design, and the player does not keep it.

  • Catalogs are one of many ways that Hasbro and TakaraTomy have traditionally promoted the Transformers brand. Starting with the original 28 Transformer toys available in 1984, catalogs typically show some or all of the currently available merchandise. Like pack-in flyers, their purpose is to entice children to buy even more toys than the ones they've already got.

  • The catalog keeps track of Furniture, Gyroids, Fossils, Clothes, Stationery, and Tools (Animal Crossing only). Exclusive items, like gifts from Tortimer, or some event items, cannot be bought, though they can be browsed. Only five items can be ordered from the catalog each day in Animal Crossing and Animal Crossing: New Leaf. In the rest of the games, the player can order up to ten orders per delivery period. Orders come at the normal mail delivery times which are 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. In Animal Crossing, the items simply arrive the next time the character was used. Stationary that the player has not purchased, but that they have previously received in letters from other villagers, will appear in the catalog and can still be purchased. In Animal Crossing: New Leaf, the catalog is unlocked after the player upgrades to the T&T Mart. The catalog can be found in a red machine in the corner of the shop. A new addition is the search option. .

  • Because Catalog's resources were so great, however, the collection reached so far back and forward through time that it was a major temporal event. It attracted the attention of bugs that, according to the Doctor, were "forces of chaos" which usually resided only at the Big Bang and the collapse of the universe. The bugs' continued feeding on the Catalog-generated timelines was a serious threat to the stability of the web of time. The Doctor ended the threat only by depriving the bugs of their food. He collapsed Catalog's collection back into real space. Suddenly, the entirety of the collection returned to physical books and records scattered across the surface of the planet. Typically, the Doctor left the Foreign Hazard Duty team called in to deal with the bugs to clean up — something he estimated would take about a century. (COMIC: Hunger from the Ends of Time)
  • Under the For Sale section of the Catalog you can find four types of object currently being sold: BC (Builders Club) Objects; Limited to only BC members. LimitedU Objects; Limited to a certain amount of the object until sold out. Limited Objects; Limited to only a certain of time being sold, after that it will be no longer be available for sale. Sponsored items were originally usually sold for , but since the removal of Tix, sponsor items are now free. Some sponsored items can only be obtained through promo codes for a limited time, or occasionally later put on sale (for example, the Transylvanian Hood was obtainable for a few days via the code "HOTELT2", but was later on sale for ). Free items are some of the fastest-selling items, since they can reach 1,000 sales in a matter of minutes, and can reach 100,000 sales in just a few hours, mostly due to their cheap prices. Under the Public Domain section of the Catalog you can find objects being sold by ROBLOX users. You can find, buy, and favorite items being sold. There are eight categories: Heads, Faces, Gear, Accessories, T-Shirts, Shirts, Pants, Packages. All the categories display objects of that genre; e.g. Under the Accessories section you will only find accessories. You can also create your own objects and sell them under your account, giving it out to any other users. Sometimes, ROBLOX would randomly make various items that were on sale for a period of time timed, usually so ROBLOX can focus on other catalog items. Some examples include the Fallen Artemis Bow gear item being marked as timed sometime during March or April of 2016, and the Red ROBLOX Glider gear item being marked as timed during early July 2016. Some holiday-related items or items related to a special event would go on sale sometime before or during a holiday or special event and become timed, and would usually go off sale once the holiday or special event the catalog item is related to is over. An example would be the Classic ROBLOX Pumpkin Head, which is only available during the month of October and would be put off sale once Halloween ends. Some items are immediately marked as timed after they go on sale. For example, the Blue Sparkle Time Bowler was timed for one day for sometime during the end of June 2016. Occasionally, these items would later become limited items (usually during a sale, such as a President's Day sale, a Memorial Day sale, a Labor Day sale, or a Black Friday sale). Until April 15, 2016, you could use the Trade Currency button to swap Tix for ROBUX. When you used this the money is instantly transferred into your account. This often helped when buying ROBUX items. When you purchase an item it is added to your models, allowing you to use it in the ROBLOX Studio. You can use the Favorite button while purchasing an item to add it to your list of favorites, which makes it easier to find the item. There is a Commentary box down at the bottom of the purchasing page. Here you can post what you think of the object being sold. When you post a comment, it appears instantly and is marked with the time you posted ('Note: Does not post the actually time, only shows it in Seconds, Minutes, Hours, and Days'.) It will also show with your picture and your name linking to your page. As of late May 2016, the box was removed on every single catalog item created by ROBLOX, but user-created content that have comments enabled are still visible. When searching items, there is a "Dark" or "Light" Background button to the left. When clicked, it will change the background accordingly. Under that will be a "Hide" or "Show" Item Details button, and when clicked will also execute accordingly. If you click on an item being displayed, it will show the purchasing page. Here, in the top right of the object visual, will show a box with a picture of the seller and the price. Each object has a category, which is displayed here, along with a short description of the object. Rental items are items that have a set expiration date. Many gears do have expiration times, not limited to gears but other catalog items. Sponsored items such as the Flintstones Car and The Amazing Spider-Man are rental items. They had 4-week and 2-week rentals, respectively. Item sales show how many copies of the item
