In the April 3120 elections, Iler had hoped to see a major breakthrough for the party. However, he still failed to secure a place in the runoff election by 2.42%. He saw the party gain the second largest number of seats in Parliament but this modest gain did not help his troubling poll numbers. Just months after the election, Iler resigned as leader. Iler did not seek reelection to Parliament and instead traveled the oceans. His wife, Rebecca, died on 3141 at the age of 71. Their only child, Sam, died in 3173 at the age of 79.
