Synopsis
  • Five members of the Justice League of America have grown to incredible heights and mass and are doing more damage than good. Only the Atom is unaffected, using his white dwarf technology to stay at a manageable size. Snapper Carr thinks the solution to the problem may have come about at a party some years ago: A fundraiser was held with the Justice Leaguers as the big draw, but it was mainly a subterfuge so that Oliver Queen can meet Bruce Wayne and persuade him to finance the League, something which Queen will no longer be able to do. The party was gatecrashed by a 'collector' called Packrat who wished to be able to collect the members of the Justice League, but was defeated immediately by the Flash and his more subtle plans foiled by the Batman, not yet a member of the League. Back to just before the present, Oliver Queen has returned to America after quite a short absence, but does not want to get involved with the Justice League again. Shortly later, the League receives a distress call about a monstrous being, apparently named Thorak. Firestorm charges into action, but both he and Red Tornado are immediately taken out, and the other Leaguers begin to grow uncontrollably.
