| abstract | - Chaos Control is an ability that allows the user to wield Chaos energy and use that power to warp time and space. It is a learned ability and can be performed by anyone who can learn to harness the power of the Chaos Emeralds. Wielding a Chaos Emerald also enhances the user's ability and effects of Chaos Control. It was first introduced to Mobius by Shadow. The effects of Chaos Control vary greatly depending on how the user intends it. Its space-warping properties allow the user to teleport over great distances in a short period of time, even with other people or items. By warping time, it can briefly slow or even stop time entirely for all except the user, who is free to interact with the environment until it wears off. Conflicting Chaos Controls near each other can even open a hole in space-time, allowing the user to travel into the past or future, but this information was lost when the events that lead to its discovery were prevented from ever happening. For all its uses, Chaos Control is not unstoppable. Users can't seem to teleport to anywhere they don't know the location of and most Chaos attacks can repelled. Also, without a Chaos Emerald, the potency of these moves is significantly diminished. Of special note is the Minus World's negative energy, which stops someone from using its power to get out of it (Unless the negative energy were to leave, then someone would be able to escape, although trying to do so through this method would also be extremely risky and ill-advised, as Chaos Control apparently speeds up the recovery rate of the negative energy.). It is also known as Shadow's signature move, but Eggman and Mecha Sonic have learned to use it to their advantage.
