  • Dynasty Warriors (三国無双, Sangoku Musou) is the beginning of the Dynasty Warriors series. Unlike the later games, the original game was a 3D one-to-one weapons-based fighting game similar to Tekken, Soul Edge, or Star Gladiator. The tag line for the title is "You can't say you know the Three Kingdoms until you've played Dynasty Warriors!".
  • Dynasty Warriors (真・三國無双, Shin Sangokumusō, literally translated as "True - Unrivaled in the Three Kingdoms") is a series of tactical action video games created by Omega Force and Koei. The award-winning series is a spin-off of Koei's turn-based strategy Romance of the Three Kingdoms series, based loosely around the Chinese classical novel of the same name. It is one of Koei's (now Tecmo Koei) most successful franchises. Including its many spinoffs, 18 million copies of the Dynasty Warriors series have sold worldwide by 2011.
  • Dynasty Warriors (Chinese: 同志無雙) is a hack-and-slash genre video game series for the Playstation 2 and PS3 by Japanese designer Koei. Due to its popularity it was also released on the Xbox, which apparently is some kinda video game console line or something. It is loosely based on Luo Guanzhong's epic novel Romancing the Three Kingdoms, which was adapted to film in 1984, starring Michael Douglas and Kathleen Turner. The series includes Dynasty Warriors, Dynasty Warriors: Tactics, Dynasty Warriors: Empires, Dynasty Warriors: Discreet Encounters and Dynasty Warriors: Bathhouse Conquests.

The series includes Dynasty Warriors, Dynasty Warriors: Tactics, Dynasty Warriors: Empires, Dynasty Warriors: Discreet Encounters and Dynasty Warriors: Bathhouse Conquests. The series has gained an infamous reputation, especially in right-wing Christian circles, for its alleged role in the Lafayette School Clawings (see below). The resulting civil rights debate rages to this day.

The award-winning series is a spin-off of Koei's turn-based strategy Romance of the Three Kingdoms series, based loosely around the Chinese classical novel of the same name. The first game titled Dynasty Warriors, a fighting game, was released in 1997 for the PlayStation and is very different from the rest of the series. All English titles are a number ahead of their Japanese counterparts due to the English localization of naming Shin Sangokumusō, a spin-off as Dynasty Warriors 2. It is one of Koei's (now Tecmo Koei) most successful franchises. Including its many spinoffs, 18 million copies of the Dynasty Warriors series have sold worldwide by 2011.
