He played 27 NHL games with the Toronto Maple Leafs and Philadelphia Flyers. He played junior hockey for the Hamilton Red Wings and the London Knights. The Toronto Maple Leafs chose him 27th overall in the 1972 NHL Amateur Draft. Osburn turned pro in 1972-73 with the Tulsa Oilers and the Leafs. The next season the Leafs started rebuilding so Osburn was left in the minors. In 1974 he was traded to the Philadelphia Flyers and played one game for them. The balance of his career was in the minor pros. Osburn retired in 1978.
