With no shields or destructive laser weaponry, it can be easily destroyed by more multipurpose or interceptor type fighters. However, its decent maneuverability, high speed (for a bomber), and very thick hull make it an excellent fighter for attacking any class of capital ship. It is especially designed to engage and disable smaller capital ships while in battle. Most often launched after other fighters are already engaged, it will quickly move to an un-escorted frigate or corvette and disable it as rapidly as possible. With its large complement of warheads and triple ion cannons, smaller capital class ships are usually quick to fall before the Stingray. The lack of hyperdrive and shields allows for a very resilient hull to be incorporated into the design. The hull is strengthened further because it is crafted out of a single piece of material.
