  • Thinking Cap is a light helmet in Dragon Age II.
  • The Thinking Cap can be bought from the Pet Trainer for 50 Pet Trainer Medals. When equipped, a big floating brain appears and starts to fly around you.
  • The Thinking Cap is a Unique Skull Cap in Diablo I. It is a popular choice for Magic-user characters, but is unusable initially with just 1 Durability. Players who wish to use it must do "Shrine runs" in the Church or Catacombs, looking for a Hidden Shrine which may boost the durability of all but one equipment by 10 in the inventory. In Hellfire it is easier to fix, since Griswold the Blacksmith's and other Oils boost item max durability.
  • Description: A hat that heightens its wearer's magical might. Defence: 18 Magical Might: 12 Magical Mending: 12 Rarity: 1 Star It can be bought at Swinedimples for 12500 gold.
  • A Thinking Cap is an item in Mid-World that is worn by many creatures and people on their heads, much like a hat. Many of the robotic creations of North Central Positronics wear such devices. In fact, the first time the term is mentioned is by Roland in The Waste Lands when referring to Shardik's metallic cap that also has a satellite dish. The Wolves also have thinking caps and is their weakest point. This fact was discovered when Jamie Jaffords and his friends stood against the Wolves.
  • The Thinking Cap is an aspiration reward that was added in The Sims 2. It is also known as the "Thinking Person's Silly-Hat-With-A-Light bulb", which is a fairly good description of it. Silly or not, it works. If a Sim in gold or platinum aspiration puts it on, it lights up, and the Sim will learn faster while wearing it. It will continue to work even if the Sim drops into green aspiration while wearing it. However, if a Sim in green or red aspiration puts it on, it may fail. When it fails, it sputters, and the Sim will pass out and lose a skill point.

When it fails, it sputters, and the Sim will pass out and lose a skill point. If a Sim wears a Thinking Cap while teaching toddler skills, the toddler will learn faster. It is rumored that wearing a Thinking Cap will help a teen do homework faster.[confirmation needed] The effects of wearing a Thinking Cap are added to any other skill-learning bonuses that may be in effect. For example, if a Sim wears a Thinking Cap while teaching a toddler who has drunk Smart Milk, the toddler will learn even faster. To have a Sim remove the Thinking Cap, select the Sim wearing the cap, click on the cap (not the Sim) and select the option to remove it. It is often helpful to pause the game before doing this. A Thinking Cap is good for 24 hours of use.

The Wolves also have thinking caps and is their weakest point. This fact was discovered when Jamie Jaffords and his friends stood against the Wolves. A different form of a thinking cap is also worn by Walter in The Dark Tower as a means to prevent Mordred from reading his thoughts. It is the same type of Thinking Cap worn by the can-toi in Devar-Toi. This ploy fails as Mordred is smarter than Walter expected, and so Mordred hears what Walter thinks. Walter meets his end after Mordred commands Walter to feed himself to him.
