  • Marine Tornado (マリントルネード Marin Torunēdo?) is the Special Weapon that X gains from defeating Launch Octopus in Mega Man Xtreme 2. When equipped, X fires a vertical waterspout that surrounds him to the top of the screen. This weapon is more or less the charged version of Storm Tornado from Mega Man X that is readily available to use, and may be a nod to Launch Octopus's ability to create whirlpools. Marine Tornado lasts only for a few moments, but it can go though floors and ceilings, and can be helpful for attacking enemies above and below X.

When charged, X fires two pairs of fish-like projectiles that travel at different angles from each other. This version of Marine Tornado resembles that of a charged version of Homing Torpedo from Mega Man X, however, the projectiles do not home in on targets and only travel in a straight path. Marine Tornado is Flame Mammoth and Sigma's weakness for both forms. In Boss Attack Mode, Flame Stag is weak to Marine Tornado as well. When using Marine Tornado, if the player attempts to charge this weapon by pressing and holding the B Button before closing the subscreen or by shifting though other Special Weapons, the uncharged version will automatically fire, wasting Weapon Energy. If the player wishes to simply use only the charged version of Marine Tornado without firing a normal shot first, the player must deliberately make X contact an enemy before holding the B Button, or, when fighting a boss, by equipping the desired weapon first, then holding the B Button down as the boss's health fills up. Alternatively, the player can also switch to a different Special Weapon, pressing and holding the B Button while X is present on the screen, and while still holding the B Button down, the player can open the subscreen and select Marine Tornado; once the subscreen is closed, X will begin to charge up Marine Tornado without wasting any Weapon Energy.
