She met former LAPD detective Harry Bosch at the Home's Christmas dinner, and began timing her visits with her mother to coincide with Bosch's saxophone lessons with Quentin McKinzie. She had coffee with him several times, and attended a jazz show at the Catalina Bar & Grill.
