abstract
  • A grikshak was an animal native to the Klingon world of Boreth. It was considered one of the most deadly predators native to its homeworld and had no fear of humanoids which it could easily dispatch with its fearsome claws and fangs. Even a juvenile could reach the size of a Earth Grizzly bear. These animals possessed an azure coat of fur, but the brighter blue coats indicated that the grikshak was more juvenile, as adult females possessed a silvery blue coat instead. This allowed perfect camouflage among the blue grasses of the animals surroundings. It sniffed its surroundings and its prey with its black wet nose. (VOY novel: The Farther Shore)
