  • “As to you being tied up…I think we’ll leave you there for the time being, for some reason I don’t quite trust you.” He lifted the flask to his own lips and took a long draw before once more lowering the flask to her lips. “Now, will you take a sip or shall I save it for myself?” "Well of course I'd rather ye not have knocked me out at all... I suppose the drug better than yer fist, but I dinnae enjoy having no control over me own body." Her eyebrows raised slightly. "Ah, I'm hurt ye don't trust little old me. What could one thin lass of 20 do to a big strong man like ye?" Her eyes lit slightly when he told her the contents of the flask. "Whisky? Now that's a drink I enjoy." She watched as he took a sip, then returned the flask to her lips. Yuki sipped at it, enjoying the burn

Yuki sipped at it, enjoying the burn of the drink as it went down her throat. "By Brigid's hand, that is a fine whisky." She almost smiled... "I may not like what ye've done t' me but a' least ye've got good taste in liquor." He watched her for a moment before sitting back at the tree he had been earlier. It was easy to see how she received her reputation…her beauty was obvious and rare, but it was her ability to disarm those around her that made Kieran smile inwardly. He wondered how many men would throw themselves at this womans feet…just for a chance of a smile to be gifted upon them. “You are no ordinary 20 year old lass, Duchess.” He said with some emphasis on the last word. “You’re right though…you could do nothing to me, but I’m no fool. You’ll remain tied up for as long as I feel necessary.” He stretched his legs out, wrapped his cloak around himself and placed his hands behind his head. “I sometimes wonder whether you Glaswegians understand what is happening in Scotland…beyond those walls of your castle…beyond the safe roads of the County.” Kieran paused, this was all drama of course…he cared not a jot about the petty politics of those who would grasp power at all costs, but it was a useful misdirection. “You have no idea, playing at nobles whilst sneering at the ancient nobility of this nation and espousing the rights of the people…pathetic…” "Aye I am far from ordinary, and as for being able t' do naught to ye...If I was nae unarmed, that would be a far different story... Didn't your mother ever teach ye Roses come with thorns?" she asked with a vicious grin. Her temper rose as he accused her falsely. "Ye don't know me at all, d' ye? No knowledge of m' history, m' life... I have done nothing but fight for the rights of the people! I do not PLAY at being a noble... noble blood of two nations runs through my veins, but that matters not an ounce to me. Nobility is in character, something I doubt ye'd understand, but all the same..." She sighed. "This will accomplish nothing for whoever hired ye. I am retiring soon, from politics... removing me will do naught as I was leaving anyhow. And those that lust for my position are far worse than I am, far more power hungry. Unless one of them sent ye... this abduction will change little." Back at the castle... Moira paced the Duchess' chambers nervously. Lady Yuki had still not returned... At first she just thought the young woman was celebrating, as was her right, for her birthday... but as dawn broke over Glasgow, she knew something was wrong. There was no way Yuki would go all night without coming back to see Marcus... unless she couldn't. Leaving the babe sleeping, she walked down to Albert, the steward's chambers...Knocking on the door, she hoped he was awake. A bleary eyed Albert opened the door and found the Lady's nurse to Marcus on his doorstep. "Moira? How can I help you?" Moira explained that the Duchess had not returned to her rooms the previous night... Albert had seen her leave towards her chambers, the fact that she never made it there was highly disturbing to him. He knew however, that the General had left alone, so Yuki was not with him... Something foul was afoot. "I will go alert the council, the guards... The Duchess has been kidnapped." He dipped his head a little and smiled an enigmatic grin at the Rose thorn comment…little did she know that pain was a companion of his in all aspects of his life. Perhaps he would have a chance to enlighten her sometime. Perhaps. He laughed, loudly, as her anger slipped through the careful control she had managed so far. The raw Rose beneath was obviously never very far from the surface. He had succeeded in provoking her, he knew of her past, her history of course. Kieran was not one to go into a situation unprepared. Still, she let slip some interesting information there…conflict in paradise? He didn’t really care, but others would pay for that information. “You claim to have noble blood…” he said with a snort. “That Duchess, is a joke. What of the Regency? Our Kings wishes were clear and yet you were one of those to betray him…and the Regency.” Kieran paused, “enough, I don’t care.” He took another long drink from his flask and pulled his cloak around him tighter. He shut his eyes, he needed to rest but was doing it mainly to ignore her…and annoy her.
