He lived and worked in the Secura Vida cantina and Brothel in the Lower City of Nar Shaddaa until one night changed his life. The powerful Revenant Maurader, the Shistavanen Skole, noticed Nawa's friendship with jay and promtply harrassed the young Twi'lek. Cypher, being thick headed stepped in and chalanged skole, and was nearly killed. To save his master, Nawar'anu offered himself in return for Cypher's life, and Skole accepted. Cypher refused to step down, and continued to fight Skole. Nawar'anu was caught in the middle of the ensuing battle and if not for then-Security Chief Nyt Shade's interference would have died. Nawa's ownership was disputed and brought before the Hutt Council, which then decreed that Nawar'anu was free. Nawa was them promtply kid napped and brutally raped by skole. These rapings and brainwashing proceeded for quiet some time untill Skoles death at the hands of jedi. After being officially freed from slavery, Nawa took up the mechanic trade, using his special ability.
