HistoryText
  • The man known only as Dr. Beat was one of the superhumans bred by Dr Michael Peyne in the aftermath of World War II who became the super team Cloud 9. He married his teammate Jenny Ridgeway and they had a son, Robert, who would grow up to become the celebrity superhero Zenith. thumb|right|Dr. Beat as Warhead Ambushed while out driving by telepathic CIA assassins who feared Cloud 9's powers, White Heat died but Dr. Beat survived — albeit horrifically injured and brain-damaged, a shadow of his former self. Rebuilt by Peyne as the near mindless cyborg killer called Warhead, twenty years later Dr. Beat was sent out to kill his own son, but a horrified Zenith killed him instead, ending his father's misery at last.
