  • Elasmosauridae was the family of plesiosaurs. They had the longest necks of the plesiosaurs and survived from the Early Jurassic to the end of the Cretaceous. They had a diet of fish and shelless cephalopods.
  • Elasmosaurids were a group of advanced plesiosaurians. These aquatic animals had necks far longer in proportion to their bodies than the related plesiosaurids and cryptoclidids. Despite the occasional misattribution, plesiosaurs are not dinosaurs, instead belonging to a different subbranch of reptiles potentially closer to lizards. The only elasmosaurid seen belonged to the Water Element.
